RCD & shock guys...

what are the shock lengths front and rear?

I'm looking at bilstein's site and they list coilover applications for the 6100 and 7100. Bob, I know you had to do some fabbing to get the 7100s to fit. But does anyone know why the 6100s or 7100s in coilover app can't/don't work?

Basically it's going to be 3-4 weeks before I can install the RCD kit with local help. In the mean time this allows me to save money and get ideas for improvements I can do while I have the truck apart.

Also, brake pads. I need new brakes as it is and once the kit gets here I'll have the 11.25 rotors. What pads should I look into? I've seen mention of ceramic and carbon metallic. IIRC, most are saying go with the carbons over the ceramics.

Be sure to watch the Bilstein footnotes. Many of the 6100/7100 coilovers are lightweight shock assemblies recommended for front buggy applications only.

Using the stock front mounting positions, a coilover spring will not clear the frame rail and upper shock mount stamping. I haven't worked with the RCD kit but I believe that it uses an upper submount adapter that pushes the top of the coilover outward to generate the needed clearance.

It would probably be worth a call to RCD to ask them which shocks might be known to be compatible with their kit.

IIRC, the 4x4 fronts are about 18" extended and the rears are about 26".
