Sooo. Ive got a 02 b4000 4.0 auto 4x4. Been looking for a better lift option than the 4 inch lift that keeps torsion bars or sas swap. Thinking about having custom a arms made that are 3 inches closer to the ground and a inch maybe inch and a half longer in width to set the track width about the same as stock, and cutting the cv in half, machining sleeves that fit over them with a solid core that addes the length i need. Maybe drilling 2 holes where they bottom out so i can weld the middle and ends of them. Anyone ever done anything like that??
If you are will ing to increase the Tracking Width, there are a lot of different approaches to a lift.
The SuperLift or Rough Country Kits are the easiest way to get some lift and most people go that route because they don't what to increase the width of the truck.
An SAS is a lot of work but if you can keep it on the low side of the lift it looks great.
I can't tell you the names of manufacturers that sell these Track Widening Kits but look at Desert Runners and you will come up with something, be prepared... $$$$ !
