drop down brackets good?
 

are drop down brackets good or bad for lifts..i hear that they break alot..anyone ever have this problem of them breaking on them?..

thats about the only lift youll be able to get for your truck. im assuming the poeple who told you this, dont own a ranger, correct?

The only lift I'm familiar with is the 4" superlift kit for 01+ 4x4 Rangers. It uses drop-down brackets for the torsion bars (and essentially the entire front suspension). I never worried that they would break, they were made with some very thick, very strong stuff.

Drop down brackets CAN be more vulnerable, or so it seems. In actuality they keep sit everything about the same height as it was stock, in a manner of speaking.

Is there a product in particular that you heard this about? We can probably answer your questions better if there's something in particular you're talking about. In general though, I've never heard of drop-down brackets breaking or anything of that sort.

pro-comp lift also have drop down brackets...

well it is either getting the pro comp or save 1800 dollars for a camburg lift..which has bent i beams

what type of offroad do you u do?

i dont..lol but i plan to do sum dezert running..and some light trails..but nothing to crazy..the pro-comp lifts i heard always have allignment problems and bolts and stuff breaking..maybe its just their lift..and the person who will isntall my lift. said " oh and please dont get drop down brackets" =/

well anything short of a lover travel i beam kit, will include drop down brackets.

autofab, camburg, giant motorsports, and the very rare fabtech kits, are all custom beam kits. But you wallet wont like you for a long time if you choose one of those.

the strongest lifts that arent full long travel custom i-beam lifts are going to be skyjacker and james duff. those are the only two companies i would recommend getting for the TIB suspension if you dont want to drop 2 grand on camburg or fabtech. the skyjacker stage 2 with extended radius arms makes for a pretty decent travel lift.

rcd doesnt use drop down brackets. I think its a bit cheapr than camburg still 2500 though.

RCD makes a 2wd kit also...

RCD doesn't make a kit for 97 and older trucks...

on the drop down kits ive installed in the past week or so.. rancho, fabtech, and a pro comp.. all the parts are thick! way thicker than stock for sure! the only way i see something breaking is if you drove straight into a rock and hit straight on ha. or try to jump it or something..

all you new IFS kits will be drop down brackets. but you can get a spindle lift for chevy 4wds. just an fyi. i mean, basically everything short of SFA trucks are drop down kits. there obviously cant be much bad about them.

humm..i dont plan on jumping it..but who knows ..humm ill do some more research b4 i make my final decision..might go with a 5 inch pro comp lift

I broke two of mine b/c I hit an underwater rock.. I bought new ones from SL and all was well. I have driven my truck through some tough stuff and never was concerned about the lift.

That also includes the RCD kit, unlike what was said. The front crossmember bracket is the "drop down bracket".

yes, but he does not have a newer IFS suspension, he has a TIB suspension which all the kits you guys are talking about DO NOT APPLY to his truck. most of hte companies you are suggesting do not even make lift kits for rangers older than 98. for a lift kit for a TIB truck i would highly recommend only going with skyjacker or james duff unless it is only for show or unless it is a full replacement beam lift from camburg or fabtech or autofab (money money). most of the other companies that make lifts for the TIB are very poor quality for serious use. the skyjacker and james duff kits are built to be extremely heavy duty and tend to fit with the fewest modifications than the other companies.
