dumn question but no harm in asking

alright i go coil boosters and i really need the higher setting but could only get the lower side in, is there anyway to spread the coil springs apart or am i missing something with putting these rubber coil boosters in, this was just the last resort before going for a lift which will have to wait

Let me guess, you're using the rubber spacers?

I sure hope so, using those "adjustable" ones are begging for trouble.

I've used the rubber spacers and they're pretty decent, I have a set on the Ranger now, to make up for the drop with the 5.0.

yeah i dindn't think the metal ones would be the best either, and they seem to be working out well i might put another set in eventually but i have enough tire clearance and spring stiffness for normal driving the tire only hit once and it barly hit, it was on my friends lane, on a realy bad bump at the bottom of his part of the driveway were it comes off a really steep hill

Yeah, I ran those adjustable in a previous vehicle, they never stayed in, and the bolts just bent, and I was using high grade bolts too.

I'm considering putting another set in, I'm afraid it might stiffen the truck too much. We'll see, luckily they're easy to put in and take out.

Tires rubbing has to be one of my most hated sounds, aside from knocking. haha

haha my one friend told me that today too, if you just do one inch do you need steering extension, or need to bother lifting the radiator, and how many do i need, i'm actually considering that since i can get the bolts for free and the hockey pucks are cheep

yeah and the rubber boosters do stiffen it a little, but not too much, and unless your coild springs are bigger than mine they are a pain in the *** of mine, the rubber ones i got from AA had a short way 1" and long way 1.5" to fit the short side in with my ****ty *** coil springs i had to have my girl friend stand on a crow bar to pull the axle down, and i barely got them in, and i needed the long side so my buddy helped me and he had a good idea put a floor jack between the radial arm and the frame, worked if you took it too far it pulled the whole coil spring down on your hands so we renforced it jaked it up to a safe lever and used a giant ****in screw driver to pry the springs apart more, so a few hur fingers and 4 boosters later we were done, and yeah rubbing tires is a horrible sound, especially new tires.

We lifted a 91 F250 once with them, put them suckers in and they still haven't come out to this day. i know the guy we sold it to, and he's never taken them out yet.

they went in in 97.

Hockey pucks are known to cause cancer, to the State of California.

Yeah, I just put two more of the rubber in last night, I wanted to use the 1.5" side like the ones that were already in there, figure it couldn't hurt, well I could barely get them in on the 1.2" side.

It was a nightmare.

I tried everything to speard those coils, even those adjustable ones to spread to get the rubber in and nothing would do it, my girlfriends weight wouldn't even move the damn axle, the TTB's bottom out before anything, I unbolted the sohck and spring where it wasn't even in the truck really and still nothing. I should have just gone with the spacers on the axle while i had the srping out...

I even used a set of coil srping compressors above the coil I wanted to put them in and I just couldn't get 'em in at 1.5".

I'm just gonna lift more when I go D35.

@DangerRanger, I for the life of me couldn't figure out the theCrazyDego was on xbox last night. It was tripping me out. haha It showed you coming online all the way through my movie.

haha ****ing california, look at my jerry rig lift thread and you'll see what i mean, lol
anyways they were a ***** but a floor jack between the radial arm and frame works great and then a crow bar the rest of the way, just hurts your fingers when the crow bar slips, lol my knucle is still stiff
