dumn lift question

alright i'm not really familiar with suspension lifts, but when you lift a truck so you have to get now coil sprigs and leaf springs or just shocks, or is there like a threshold were you have to get new springs?

ranger024x4 Dec 16, 2010 06:37 AM

really depends on the lift. how much lift are you talking about?

894banger Dec 16, 2010 06:42 AM

well i'm thinking 6 inches, but if theres a threshold were you have to buy more stuff then i will only go that high,

Clinton Dec 16, 2010 06:43 AM

yeah springs, leafs and shocks going that high

894banger Dec 16, 2010 06:45 AM

is there a height were you only need shocks?

Clinton Dec 16, 2010 06:49 AM

do you mean just lifting a truck using shocks? If so shocks wont add lift

894banger Dec 16, 2010 06:58 AM

so you need new springs then, how much money wise is one looking at for lift, i'm just looking for a gerneral price

894banger Dec 16, 2010 07:15 AM

i know i sound stupid but i just want to get my facts strait

ranger024x4 Dec 16, 2010 07:25 AM

not to sure on the older trucks but it will consist of springs/shocks/coil spacers/drop brackes depending on the lift

894banger Dec 16, 2010 07:29 AM

alright, what do you know about a 3 inch lift

RLong31 Dec 16, 2010 07:29 AM

It might help if you gave us more information about your truck. year, 2wd or 4wd, etc. Search summit.com for your vehicle and look under suspension lift and see what you find.

894banger Dec 16, 2010 07:37 AM

well its 1989 2wd. You would have to have a completly different lift for a 4wd then? And i want o know what all is involved with it.
