My Spindles

ok so i ordered my spindles today over the phone and they're the doetsch tech spindles. The dude on the phone asked me what size blocks i wanted, 2,3, or 4..i didnt know what i wanted but i just said 3 because i knew the spindles lifted it about 3 inches...Did i make the right choice? im not a big fan of the prerunner style and i dont really care for the *** end to be hella higher than the front. With the three will it be level?

Your stock blocks are about 2" or so. With 3" blocks you'll come up an inch more in the back. Don't stack the blocks unless you have them professionally welded together as I did.

I think 4 would have been the better choice, personally. I don't like the add-a-leafs for the stiffness.

You'll be sitting stinkbug with a total 3" overall lift. I'd recommmend ditching the blocks altogether and getting some new leaves to put in the pack, you'll get a lot less axle wrap and the truck will be better protected because there is more spring to absorb impacts.

I agree, don't stack blocks and an AAl is a better way to go for the money.

3" blocks will not be enough as stated, but you can always get the chevy lowering shackels for an extra inch

You're awesome Zach.

Stacking blocks, even when welded together, is unsafe. Welds can crack over time (every weld has a stress point, and no matter what people say, the weld is no stronger than the actual metal it is connected to unless DEEP penetration of both pieces is realized, and unless the parts aren't moving, which in suspension there is constant movement and vibration, they'd be okay, but it is an unsafe way to lift your truck). To do it the right way costs money, but can you put a price on safety? I know some others will disagree with me, but through all of the trucks I've helped build I now notice a lot more that should/shouldn't be done than I would've noticed before.

If this is the right one do i need new U-Bolts? It also says the ending year it will fit is 2002 and i have a 2003, will these still work?
