is the Edge the only ranger with torsion bars?

-98-00 4x4's got em as well as the 2000 trailhead
-2001-05 Edge and 4x4s got em
-06+ Sports and 4x4s.

oh...i see...now what is the differance in the torsion bar and coil spring?

the torsion bar is your srping. Its an adjustable "spring" so to say.

Okay, that makes since...i guess...but it seems to me that it would get hit from underneath with rocks and stuff damaging it.

those things are pretty damn hard... if you think about it, they can withstand a 3500lb truck bouncing on them.

oh believe me they do get hit with an occasional rock or two....but i try not to make a habit of it....but they are, IMO, tuffer than leaf springs....but thats a completely different story....T-Bars=0 breaks, Leafs=2 breaks....

i believe leaf springs can handle 300 lbs per square inch while tbars hold 1000 lbs per square inch.

Then why is it that when you crank the Tbars, they tend to sag after awhile? I hear a lot about that, and then you guys say they are really strong. Just trying to clear up some confusion. Thanks

if you think about it you wouldnt want to be bashing abyting against rocks on your truck that is bound to get you in trouble. i have i beams and that is the last thing i would ever bash against
