Edge Front Shocks

I was looking around the other day at my shocks and I noticed the front shocks on my Edge are very oddly mounted, well im sure they arent any different from the other Edges I just found it odd. The top of the shock I understand how it's mounted it just has a threaded end and a bolt holding it in place in the engine bay. The bottom half that is mounted to the lower control arm is what I found odd it looks like the base of the shock actually fits down into the arm and has two bolts holding it in place. What I was wondering is this, I found this pic on here and I wanted to know if the piece his shock is mounted did he custom make it or buy it?

No clue, I was just lookin around and saw that pic under the classified section and I like that piece his shock is mounted to cuz it would help me out in choices for the front shocks on my truck the way they are mounted now is really dumb.

All you have to do is ask

Those shocks have a Heim (sperical bearing) lower mount. So they can not be attached the usual way with a rubber bushing and "T-Bar". All Edge/4wd's mount the same way to the LCA. That mount was custom made by Camburg (www.camburg.com) to work with those shocks. The shocks are Bilstein 7100 series and they are a custom order so I wouldnt try Kartek, if you want a set call Camburg or Me

The limit straps were added by Camburg to keep the Axle from poping out and the Ball Joints from over extending due to the longer shock.

Yea, im really interested in getting some of those mounts that way I could use my new lowered front shocks that I have. They wouldnt mount up bcz of the way the LCA was and how the shocks had to be mounted to it but that would fix that problem. How would I go about only getting those mounts without having to buy the whole shocks package from camburg? Would u be interested in selling urs or do u have another set?

Your best bet would be to call Camburg, www.camburg.com and have them send you a set, or just build your own/have a friend fabricator build them for you. Mine are already in use... and since your lowered I dont think you want those shocks.. lol.
