This might be a dumb question but... Brenton's truck is a 2 wheel drive, so that means to use the front axle as a drive axle (which he will be doing, right?) he would need a 4x4 trans for a 4.0 and a transfer case, right? (as well as manuel hubs and driveshaft and everything else of course)

Everything on the axle looks set up.

He needs a new tranny and tcase, and rear driveshaft (2wd's are longer b/c they go straight from the tranny instead of the tcase)

Thats just what I HEARD...I can't verify any of what I just said.

It will take a bit to make him 4wd...

Yea, I'm just going to go ahead & get a new tranny & a manual t-case, get a steel rear drive shaft, new tranny x-member, & front drive shaft, front gears, & maybe some other goodies for the axle.

Brenton

he won't need a new tranny just a new tranny tail-section and output shaft.

Since you have time i would look into advance adaptors and get a custom tail-section and output shaft so you could run real BEEF for a t-case insted of the 1354.

For a mud truck like brenton's with a 44 and some xml's I think he'll be fine. If he breaks **** he can always get chromo shafts and some beefed up u-joints. Still alot cheaper than a 1000$+ d60 that needs to be rebuilt.

yea but by the time he buys chromos and ctms he could have bought a d60 got some 150 dollar 35 spline outers and called it a day. ive never seen a 44 hold up succesfully to any tire that large let alone a military tire

lets tally that up.

~100 bucks for the 44.
~100 bucks for warn premiums
~300 for yukon chromo's
~400 for CTM's.
~100 for a spool.
~250 for gears/install kit.
Thats ~1250 for a built 44. Roughly 50$ more than a stock, JY d60.

Drivers drop kingpin 60's?

I can get chevy 60's all day long for 4-500. But drivers drop, especially kingpins, are 1000$ +.

It's all about location.

And knowledge if you can find an ignorant JY (but if you do, all the d60's are already gone most of the time lol)
