Swapping in Springs off a fullsize?
Further to my last: https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=42526
Is anyone running springs out of a full size Ford? Anyone know how say, 3/4 Ton springs would sit? Would it mount OK?
Thanks a lot.
Edit: I mean front coil springs

I had them on my truck.. they lifted the rear a bunch (i had the 4x4 springs). I took them out because the ride quality sucked

1988-1998 Chevy 1/2 ton 2wd springs work the best.
You get 2-3 inches of lift from them
All you need to do is move the front spring hangers far enough forward that the old front holes for the hanger are now the back holes. and drill 2 new front holes.
That amount means moving the hanger just under 6" forward.
the Chevy 2wd springs ride pretty well for being on a 1/4 ton truck.

Hahaha. Quite the opposite.
But I am looking more for height & ride quality.... and maybe eventually swapping in a 302 so this would be prepping for that. (Just gotta get this damn motor to blow... its too reliable)
I am probably not going to go with fullsize springs just yet, instead just go with the taller ranger springs or spaces in front; shackles & SL leafs in back. Then whenever this dependable motor blows (155k on it right now), Ill go with the 302 and beef up the susp.
