Ford Ranger Diesel Lift Kits
Hey Guys. Hello from Panama. I have a 2004 Ford Ranger diesel with a 2.8 Power Stroke Engine, the same engine found in the Land Rover Defender.
The car is great, great axles, great engine and great tranny, however is too low. I am looking for a suspension lift kits, and i will like to know if you've got any good options. I am looking to fit a 33 inches tires. So far, the ironman lift kit with nitrogas shocks is 1300 USD. Can i get a better choice in the US? What other info do i need to know? Thanks in advance |
theres a susp for the diesel trucks? didnt know.. hi btw.. im from costa rica..
if u want 33 tires easiest and best choice is to do a body lift. as what ive heard there is no garantee that any lift kit for the gasser rangers will fit our diesel rangers. i guess the susp should be pretty similar but never went to realy check it out and compare it to another truck as i always thought if im doing something like this id rather just sas the truck |
thats a really good question. we dont have any diesel rangers in north america...at least not 2004s. post pics of your truck!

yeah i wish we had powerstroke rangers here, but welcome and good luck with finding a lift kit

Hey guys. thanks for the promt answer.
Comustico, i think you are also in the ford ranger forum from argentina. Hello. There is no lift for ford ranger diesel, however the suspension system is the same you find in the explorer and ranger 98 up. Well at least, the parts numbers are the same, and i get the parts for my truck from explorer. The rear suspension, it might be similar. However i think is better to measure the shackes, leaf springs, torsion bar, and from this information get the parts. Still looking, Don't want to waste my money, and it seems that you can get good results only by lifting the ranger from the torsion bars. Don't think the body lift is the best way to lift it. you are only lifting the cabin. |

A set of Ford Explorer leaf springs will Belltech 6400 shackles will give you 4-41/2 inches in the rear. And thats pretty cheap and easy if you can find a front half of a superlift for sale used or something.
If not the good ole body lift. |
I've been doing my homework.
It seems that ford the ranger, i can get 2 inches with the torsion bar. What do you think... 32 tires, a good set of shocks ? I don't think it will be a good idea to spend 1300 USD for a kit, if i can get the same hight only with the torsion bar, now it seems a waste of money. |
