Ford and there parts....
Well I was working on my truck today, changing out the balljoints when I ran into a problem. THe lower ball joint came out easy but the top one gave me porblems. I tryed and tryed to get it out...I took off the control arm and everything...finally it just shatterd. So I contact Ford to see about a new upper control arm and then they tell me that the upper ball joint and control arm are all one piece. I mean what the hell. I needed that info before I took one hour trying to get it off and I broke a Balljoint removing clamp. WHy do they make it so compliacted.

I hate to say it but there have been a few posts about this in the past couple weeks. I have done mine and they are one peice upper arms unless you get moogs and they are removable if they have to replaced later.
What you need. The upper control arms are about $110~130 each and the lower ball joints are about $35 each. The tie rod ends are about $25 each.
These numbers are for with Rangers with torsion bar suspension ONLY (98+ 4x4, 2000 Trailhead, 2001+ Edge).
DS one-piece UCA 98~2006:

UCA w/replaceable/greasable ball joint

PS one-piece UCA 2003 1/2~2006:
