No, nitrogen won't come out just by taking the cap off. The cap keeps the schrader valve protected.

Screw off the adjustment and lock nut at the top of the coilover to install the spring. Once the spring is on, you adjust the nuts back down to compress the spring. It is best to use a spanner wrench, like this: Off Road Warehouse - ICON 2 Pin Spanner Wrench - ALL ICON Coil-over Shocks

gotcha

zabeard 12-25-2009 06:59 PM

you know the bottom cup should come loose and come off the shaft. slide the coil on then put the bottom cup back in.

herm59 12-25-2009 10:52 PM

Thats a nice X-Mas present.

Off-roadranger04 12-26-2009 12:16 AM

so how do i kno when the tensioners are tight enough????

Gmanpaint 12-26-2009 12:41 AM

Just depends on how you like it to ride. The tighter the coils, the stiffer the ride. You will be making adjustments for awhile after you install them. Its just a matter of fine tuning to your comfort level.

Off-roadranger04 12-26-2009 08:47 AM

ah gotcha... thanks guys!!

xvxax 12-26-2009 09:35 AM

You bought coils but you don't even know how to install the spring? Probably was not the right setup for you.

Off-roadranger04 12-26-2009 09:46 AM

ive done my research... they are going on the truck when my buddy clears out his garage!
