frnt axle swap
frnt axle swap
ok i am tired of ball joints, bearings, and tie rod ends giving out, so i was talkin to a buddy of mine who owns a shop, and works at the junkyard about the axle swap, he was like sure d44 is what i want, but i plan to leave it without a frnt driveshaft til i can get the new driveline, is it worth it or should i wait for the transfer case?
No, do the SAS. Yes, you still have ball joints, bearings and tie rod ends, but the designs are all far superior in strength. Remember, with a solid axle, you only have horizontal movement of these parts, no vertical.
thats what i was told.... the guy doin it has done straight axles before... just not on a smaller truck like mine... but is confident to have it rolling in a few days... aligned and lifted... but ill be constantly on here asking questions
