I'm trying to lower my ranger 2" but the front suspension is like ive never seen. First ford product. Anyway it has coils and shocks but there's no tbars or keys to adjust them. My question is whats the best way to lower it? Do I just go find shorter springs or what? Any info is greatly appreciated thanks

 

Yeah.

Shorter springs. You might do well with shocks that have a higher damping setting or a slightly higher spring rate. That bottoming out thing will wake you up.

Another method is you can go dropped spindles.

They're all over eBay and Amazon as well as specialty suspension places.

Need some help with this.

I have a FabTech lift. After hitting a trail, on the ride home I notice some serious wobbling on the freeway. Once I got home I found out that my left Ibeam is bowed and rubbing on the steering stabilizer shock.

The question is how in the world do I get this fixed?
Not sure if it is true but I was told that the are altered when the lift is done. In other words the bend them? Does this mean that I cannot replace them with a different set from another truck?
Are there after market Ibeam that would work in my situation?
Finally can it be bent back and re-enforced some how?

Any guidance is highly appreciated.

Those are 3rd party I-beams, never seen a stock one with the "do not bend-heat-welded" on it

You will need to replace the bent one, no it can't be straightened as far as I know, you can try but I would spend money on it, just your labor

Not sure how it would bend like that unless you hit something backing up over it???

 

Thanks for the response. It's funny cause that day it happensed was as cruise type of day. Super easy on the truck. It makes sense that something could have hit it from behind as you suggested. But I do not recall such an incident. Odd really.
No idea what to do honestly. Sad to say I even called fabtech and they had no recommendations for me. I'll just have to call around and see what will fit accordingly at a fair price. That's the part that stings though, the price.

 

From the location and angle of the bend, My guess is at one time someone wrapped a strap around it and used it as a pulling point and bent the I-beam.

Trying to get some one unstuck or stump pulling.

This calls for some frame-mounted tow hooks along with new I-beams.

You might be able to get new ones without all the hardware simply for replacement, although new hardware is good as it was stressed in that bending. Ow.
