Getting bigger tires.

So ive been looking at getting bigger wheels/tires for my 2008 ford ranger 2wd 3.0. I want it a little higher but dont want to mess with the suspension. Yeah i know its a 2wd so why lift it right? I just want a nice looking ride that i can drive to n from while not looking like a low end completely stock turd lol. So the question is, what are the biggest i can go for a stock 2008 ranger? And does it really mess with the speedometer like some say?

To answer your first question, good info here - Ranger Max Tire Size Chart

To answer your second question, tire size absolutely effects the speedometer. The larger the tire size over stock the SLOWER the speedometer will read (i.e if your speedometer reads 55mph, you would actually be going 60mph or whatever, again depends how much bigger the tires are) The speedometer can be recalibrated though.
