having trouble on deciding what kind of lift to do

i just read the sticky at the top of the section about the different options of lifting a ranger.

and i dont know what to do.

im going back and forth between just a 3"BL or the 4" superlift.

the superlift sounds like bad news, torsion bars at stock height, and front drive shaft wears out withint 20k miles according to the site.

but with the BL, it will be a pain in the ass to reposition my tow hooks, and lift my bull bar.

idk what to do.

the BL is more cost, and truck friendly. leaning that way for now...

can anybody else post up why one and not the other. or vice versa.

superlift or rcd if you can afford it.

I wish that is where I would have left mine, superlift and 33s. I love the look of no BL, plus if you have tow hooks you dont have to move them it keeps the frame up.

I like body lifts too, its just if you look at the trucks with just a BL or just a Superlift I like the look of the just superlift. or just rcd.

BL is lost cost, but you do have to worry about repositioning things.

You can get the superlift driveshaft to fix that problem.

yeah for 500 bucks.

the RCD is out of the question.. for now at least.

so i was looking at body lifts, and i can only find lifts for 01-05 rangers.

will one of those work on my 07??

idk what years work with what but i bought a body lift because of the money reason, and i will probly get shackles and coils to add to it

Part # 70033 from performance accessories is what you want. It will work for the 07. The only differences between body lifts for 93 - 08 Rangers are the bumper brackets.

I think 98+ bumper brackets are all the same

very possible...I don't know personally. Just says on PA's site for that Part # is only for 01-06, maybe someone else can verify that. I used the kit for my 92 on my 93 and fabricated the rear brackets while my exhaust guy modified my stock front brackets.

04blackedge 12-06-2008 01:12 PM

Yeah I used the 98-00 kit on my 04, I don't think anything has changed. Theres a BL going on a 08 today, so I'll guess we'll know soon.

Tys 4x4 FTW 12-06-2008 01:51 PM

well im buying a bodylift from somebody with an 01 ranger.

will everything work okay?

04blackedge 12-06-2008 01:56 PM

Yep it should. PM fx4wannabe01, he's doing a BL on a 08 today so he'll know for sure.

robert99ranger 12-06-2008 01:59 PM

04blackedge 12-06-2008 02:02 PM
