Ranger Front End Noise

I'm getting a popping noise from the front end of my little ranger. I just checked it out, ball joints, control arm bushings, and sway bar bushings are tight. The noise is coming mainly from the driver's side tie-rod. It makes the noise when you bounce the body up and down, so I'm assuming that it's the inner or outer tie rod ends. There is no play in them at all, just the popping
noise like they need lubricated. If it's the inner one (inside the steering rack boot), can you pull the boot back and lubricate it some way?

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! I just checked again, the noise is definately coming from the tie-rod, the sway bar is quiet.

get a large pair of chanel locks and squeeze the tie rod at the knuckle, if it moves then its bad. and i bet there is play in them, you just dont know how to check them.

maybe if you lucky i'll tell you how to properly check the balljoints.

Re-read my original post Einstein, there is no play in tie rod ends!!

you cant just jack the wheel up and wiggle it back and forth.

read my first post MR man.

i have found loose parts seasoned tech's could not find.

Einstein, the problem was a dry, binding inner tie rod end on the driver's side.
