help stock shackle removal

help stock shackle removal

hey guys im halfway done puttting my new belltech shackles on but i cant get the bolt out of the top of my stock shackle. i got the nut removed from the back but it still wont move any help will be greatly appreciated

You do have the axle jacked up so there is no weight on the leaf spring right?

also, try some penetrating oil and maybe heat to help move it out.

I had to turn the bolt almost all the way out. It was a royal PITA.

yea i got the drivers side all done but the passsenger side is pita. im gonna try heating it up tommorrow. it almost seems like there is a second nut on the back of the bolt. no matter what i try to do this bolt wont come out.

ive been contemplating cutting the end of the bolt off and just trying to hammer it out the back.

I had this problem on my Exploder when I replaced the shackles. I ended up cutting the head of the bolt off, heating it, and hammering the crap out of it with a 3lb ball-peen and a wide head screwdriver.

Mine did that too lol i just played with the axle going up and down at the same time as i was impacting it out and it finally came.
