Hockey puck suspention lift= FAIL!
So tonight I decided what a great idea it would be to lift up my truck unbolt the leafs off the rear blocks, jack up the leafs and put a puck on each side between the leafs and the rear blocks. Then Re bolt everything and tighten well.
Thought insted of buying longer shackles, I could use free pucks that are lying around.
I figgured hockey pucks are hard as SHI**
Well after drilling them a bit so they original bolt fits partway in them, and tighting. The stupid 1" hockey pucks crushed down to between 1/4 and 1/2 inch lol.
Alll that work and I got like 1/4 to 1/2 inch ! So I can't really tell a difference in my rear end, maybe like very minor.
Pictures soon to come.

I think I'll get a set of these http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=370168356577
cheaper, and 1-2 inch adjustable.

^ baahahaha.
So if I read this right, you used a hockey puck as a lift block. Yeah. That's a big fail for a suspension lift. Why not have just used a larger 3 or 4" block and longer u-bolts?
Yeah you can get away using sleeved pucks for a body lift, but you know those aren't going to last forever either. The pucks can and will crack, causing them to break, and ultimately cause you some dangerous suspension problems which can lead to an accident. Get those pucks out of there ASAP. Because you said that they are crushed now, they're no good. May as well have put a piece of drywall where the pucks were. Would have gotten the same effect.
I'm all for DIY mods, but not when they compromise safety, such as this case.
