I found a dana 44 front axel

Well i found a few axels on crais list cheap....what i want to know is if there the right ones for doing a sas...im starting in on buying parts to use/rebuild to do a sas.

1975 F-250 high-boy Dana 44 8-lug front axle ($100).

ford high pinion 44 front axle ($100) Does not say what year its off of.

1978 Bronco Dana 44 (call for price)

I would stay away from #1 most likely has drum brakes. i would say if #2 if it was 8 lug and had disk brakes.

i would get #3. Only thing is that it has cast wedges for the radius arms that cant be removed.

option 1 will be drum and hard to find parts.

Hmm ok well i got a line on maybe getting parts out of the junk yard...a girl i know has an uncle who owns a junk yard....If possible can any one make a list of useable axels be it coil or leaf that can be used so i can give her a list to find out if he has any laying around?

have you considered a D44 from a wagoneer? you can find them in both wide and narrow track configureations, depending on your desired track width.

another option may be a D44 from an early bronco, but finding one may be the trick!

i'm unsure of you're desired setup, whether or not you would be narrowing one of the fullsize axles in question, or will be going with full width axles.

the 78 bco d44 is the same as what i have. parts are pretty easy to find.
