hopefully a quick question this link below describes its made for a radius arm link with 7" of separation... this word radius arm term is really messing me up. only one i know of is the ford radius arm setup on older trucks, like the one that was on my D44.

is this really for a 4 link? or what

It doesn't say anything about being used for a 4-link. It's for Ford Radius arms, which aren't what you want I don't think. Look for a real 4-link bracket, or make your own.

yeah that is what i was afraid of. i just want the upper and lower the bracket all in one on the axle.

 

it looks to be like a chrysler quad link style but what do I know and the radius arm is probably lower link.

 

A Ford radius arm and is technically a suspension link, but not what Zach is lookin' for.

Zach I think you could pretty easily make your own, or shoot some of them an email with what you're looking for. They could definitely make them for you, and probably for a reasonable cost too. If you're ok with solidworks, some of those could definitely help you out.

 

i brought the idea up with ballistic fab, we will see if they reply.

as for link separation i have recently read(tonight lol) that you want 8-11 inches of separation on the upper and lower links on the axle side.

i'm just going to keep reading 4 link stuff i am sure i will have a good idea how to build the front and rear by the time i am ready.

 

shonuff82 did a four link,i would get with him and see if he has anything to offer.

 

after looking at his pics he did a passenger side 3 link.

i really dont think a triangulated 4 link will work in the front. its just going to be too tight, plus id need some fancy steering stuff.

What's wrong with the longarms you've got already? Why not worry about doing something with those silly leaf springs you've got in the back?

 

because of 1 reason. the 500$ bracket kit. i also have issues with setting some of my caster with the long arms, they are also not long enough for the amount of lift i need to clear 40s. i figure i can sell the the long arms and build new links and brackets for less than the bracket kit itself.

ive got some of the geometry figured out already. no worries about the rear either, leaf springs are long gone.

 

yeah,i had to do some fancy things to make mine work also,i have thought about a four link,but that seems to be in the far future,maybe when i do a d44 swap.

 

i got a response from ballistic they said they have used the brackets i listed above for parallel 4 links.

 

yeah but you know it will probably be just as much of a pain with parallel 4 link.

i think ill just stick with my long arms and run 37s.

 

Yeah I think you'd be pushing the limits of a D44 with anything bigger than 37s anyways.

 

ya that is probably true. 37s are cheaper too. lol
