Icon5 I was wondering

what would happen If i remove the spring shackles between the spring and the spring hanger? the shackles are rotting out and my step-dad said that if the springs were hooked directly to the springs it would lift the rear a bit. I don't want a lot of lift just the 70's musclecar stance. any info is welcome.

Not sure what that means and not sure what you are asking.

You can't get rid of a shackle if thats what your asking.

If you get rid of the shackles you will have a rigid rear "suspension" (you do not want this). And it would lower the rear not lift it.
If you are looking to raise the rear end up and replace the shackles I believe you can use chevy shakles (not certian but have seen it talked about on here)
