Hey Guys, I've got a bit of an involved question, I hope you guys can help me out. I have a 2004 Ranger Edge 2wd 3.0 and I'm wanting to set it up with a suspension that will get me around when I go dirt bike riding or just messing around in the desert. I also want it to be comfortable on road, because it is my daily commuter. I'm on a typical college student budget so I was thinking of Fabtech Spindles up front with a 1" torsion crank. The rear is where I'm having problems though. I don't know if I should go with blocks or add a leafs. The blocks, from what I understand, make for a more comfortable ride but don't hold up very well off road. The add a leafs seem to be the complete opposite. What are my options for replacement rear springs? I need advice on shocks too. I got about $1400 to spend and I am wanting to run 33's. Thanks in advance.

Woo hoo truck twins! haha that wasnt gay... The Edges already have a 2" block in the back so I wouldn't do that. What I would do is get a Belltech from shackle for a full size chevy in the back I think its the Belltech 6400 or something like that. That will raise a ranger up 2 inches and then combine that with a add-a-leaf. The only way to life the front of the Edges is the spindle, Fabtech makes a good one. You can easily have it lifted for under 1000 bucks.

 

search, but your on the right track. for the rear get shackles, wont sacrifice ride quality and will get you another 1.5 inches

I agree with them, your going to need to get shocks with that lift (I believe) so you should look into a good set of shocks as that will be the biggest thing that affects your ride quality. What kind of tires are you thinking of getting? You said you'd be going to the desert and BFG A/T's do really good in sand. I've got them in 31's and I love them. Snow, sand, even mud they do great in.
