i'm a DA gimme a break: ?'s

hey guys. ok so i'm new to this whole 4wd thing because i was into imports for so long i dont know the names of anything or how to do anything.

so i'll start out with my plans:
i'd like to get a 3" lift and maybe some 32's or 33's

i've searched and searched and searched and can't find anything, what the heck do you guys mean when you say a "t-bar crank". (i told you i'm a DA)

i was also wondering if coil spacers and "add-a-leaf" is ok to do on rangers? my buddy just got a new tacoma (2wd w/ locking diff.) and he can do it fairly cheap. i was wanting to on mine also. any reason why i shouldn't/can't?

someplease school me (but in a good way)

first off we need some truck specs.......4x4? 4x2?

if you dont wheel your truck and you just want a lift for looks, then get a body lift......

I'd get a body lift & some 33x12.50x what ever tires & it'll look nice & smooth.

so you know the ranger was what is called a torsion bar (t-bar for short) front end, to the best of my knowledge this means a few things 1. you have no coil over springs so you can do coil spacers. 2. the front end uses torsion bars (think straight spring) a "t-bar" crank is when you tighten the preload on the t- bar cusing the truck to ride higher in its suspension stroke, this gives you a 1-2 in "lift" depending on how tight you go, the down side to this is it stiffens up you suspension some. the best cheap way to lift a 4x4 01 and up is with a PA body lift this raises the body off the frame giving you clearance for 33x12.5 tires on 8in wide rims, or you can just stuff a set of 33x10.5 in tires in without the lift giving the same under axel clearance and a lower center of gravity and spend the 200+ bucks on a bama tuner or somthing else. hope this answers your questions, and mods correct me if im wrong.

bama tunner is a performance tuner that changes your computer specs to get the most out of your engine... yes you can have it adjust for your speedometer diffrence after a tire change...
