Loose Front Suspension

Hey guys, new to the ranger scene. I just bought a 2005 Edge 3.0. It had a salvaged title because the kid before tried to jump it and well long story short it now has really loose front suspension. I'm just trying to get some input and try to figure out why it is so wobbly. If I hit a small bump or pothole my truck feels like its going to lose control. I'm not too sure why its doing this. It has the torsion bar suspension with the two piece wish bone upper, but the wishbone is only on one side. the other side, which is the drivers side is a normal upper a-arm. Does that have something to do with it?? Please help if you guys have any ideas on what could be making my truck so unstable in the front. It feels really unsafe. Thanks

It could be a number of things.
Upper ball joints/control arms
Lower ball joints
Upper or lower control arm bushings
Inner and/or outer tie rod ends
Shocks
Wheel bearings

Often you will see that the Rangers have different upper control arms. One of them is a two-piece and that is completely normal.

I suggest lifting the truck in the front and checking everything for play.

One piece upper A-arms are OEM. Two-piece assemblies are available as aftermarket replacements. Do as brianjwilson suggested and check anything in the suspension that has/is a moving part. You have something that is either broken or extremely worn, and from your description, it sounds dangerous.

Hey guys thanks for the help. I recently took the truck down to the shop and had them check my alignment, and let me say I have never seen a vehicle so out of alignment in my entire life!! Like 5 point something degrees off in caster, like 1.3 degrees in negative camber, and they had to adjust the toe. It was ridiculous! Now I have a straight truck, and I got brand new A/T's mounted and balanced while I was at it :) Today I'm putting some new brake pads on it. Oh and the truck is now driving better after my visit to the shop,so thanks again dudes
