93 Ranger 4.0 2WD Zero off road My all around & work vehicle - What Shocks to get ?
Looking for advice on what shocks to get I'm strictly on road driving. I use the truck as my all around vehicle. Its my baby I bought it new in 93 had it for 20yrs crazy
I'm a fire extinguisher guy so use the truck running around all day going from bizness to bizness checking there fire extinguishers the back of the truck is packed up with a bunch of extinguishers but fire extgs don't weight that much so at most maybe 250lbs.
Whatever shocks are on there now was something Firestone put on many years ago I'm sure over 100k miles on them now.
Looking for some advice on what would be a good choice for a decent upgrade but not over kill ?

I have always seen Ranchos as a good upgrade. Go to RockAuto they have shocks from $9.50 to $55. The mist expensive Ranchos are around $50 each.
I too have a 2wd Ranger that wont see any off-roading and am thinking of putting new shocks to make the ride better and stronger ones in the back to support the weight of Home Depot/Lowes trips.

IMHO…
Go with a high level Name Brand Hydraulic Shock.
Stay away from the Air Shocks, the Gas Shocks and the Special Bargain Shocks.
Gas Shocks sound like a great deal but the ride is far worse than a good quality hydraulic shock.
To me Rancho Shock need a better paint on them, seem to peel and rust very fast.
