install of superlift, need some advise
 

i noticed a few things,

-the instructions talk about greasing the sway bar links... there are not grease fittings on them.

any tips for the intall? anythign you all did that made it easier? (like tricks that made the torsion bar removal easier..) or anything overall.

throw the sway bars in the garbage ;-)

You should have sway bar links with the superlift kit that have a balljoint on the end of them. There should be some zerk fittings on them or with the kit that you install into them. I can't remember which though. Really, the superlift sway bar links are junk though.

Torsion bars can be tricky to remove the first time, but once you're under there and looking at it, it's really pretty simple. Just be careful because there's a LOT of force potential on those torsion bars with the puller attached while you are removing the retaining plate thing. Use some pliers so you don't have to put your fingers in there.

i just installed a superlift on a 04 fx4 at work last week, and there were no zerks in it for the endlinks. as there were a lot of missing hardware in which i had to find my own.

Call them up and tell them. I was missing rear shock bushings and they had them to my door in about 2 days.

Of course the rear shocks were the last thing I went to install, so I just drove around for 2 days with no shocks. It was like driving a trampoline!

t-bar removal made easy......

If i remember right from the RCD install I had the front end of the truck off the ground, and slowly released the tension on the t-bar through the bolt you use to crank the t-bars. from there the t-bars were removed out on the lower control arm and subsequently out of thet-bar frame mounting points. And then RCD compression struts were put in.

In order to remove the torsion bars, you can either completely remove the lower A-Arms and the torsion bar adjuster bolts and then you'll be able to slide out the bar. You've got to be able to completely let the load off of the bars. The way you're SUPPOSED to do it is to use a 2 or 3 jaw puller to load the torsion bars enough that you can remove the adjuster bolt and the small plate that the adjuster bolt threads through. From there, let the tension off of the puller and your torsion bar and key will slide out easily from the lower control arm.

1) I made sure to lube the rubber on brackets of the sways.

2) Make sure you have a friend, and b33r.

3) take your time.

4) double check all your parts. Min were missing some as well.

check ALL the bolts when you are done to make sure they are tight.
i went through on mine the next day and found some that were just hand tight. its hard to keep track with a lot of people helping.

i think the superlift has revised their endlinks as the ones in the kit i put on did not come with zerks, of spots for them.
