installing my new bilsteins... help!

I just got my new bilstein 5100's.. i got my old ones off but now i'm trying to install these and I just realized there is a bolt mount that goes in the lower eyelet... anyone know how to get the old mount out and transfer it to the new one?

here's a pic

Vice, hammer, and a possum dick?

jamesxEDGE 10-07-2008 05:27 PM

hahahahahha what would the dick do?

A possum dick is a pin knocker outer.

Drill the rubber out around the bar pin, then press it out. Or, you might be able to adapt these to a Ranger...

yeah... i tried pressing it out and the bushing came out with it... so i tried cutting it away from the pin, didn't work. it's glued to the pin. can i just go to ford and buy 2 pins?

get some pb blaster or wd 40 and see if it will slide. maybe some tin snips(metal cutters) or some wire cutters will cut the bushing off. Razor blade may help too...

haha, so i was in there working while you guys came up with the idea of torching it.. i actually thought of that once i was done. i just used a vice and a saw, and then a chisel and pliers to clean it all off. biggest pain in the @ss. now i have to get it through the new bushing. woo this is going to be fun

wierd, my fabtechs came with new ones, i just used a bench vise to push them out and push them into the new ones, some bathroom cleaner helps them slide(bathroom cleaner is basically soap in a can)
