Is this kit all I need for my Ranger?
I have a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge. 4x4 Manual, 3.0 V6. All stock. I found this lift kit on ebay for pretty cheap, and was wondering if it was all I need. Is it legitimate, and do I need to purchase anything else (extended shifter, or anything).
1995 2014 Ford Ranger 3" Front 2" Rear Full Leveling Lift Kit 4x4 Pro | eBay Thanks for your help. |
First, what front suspension do you have? If actually torsion, DO NOT BUY KEYS! ALso, DO NOT ADD ANOTHER BLOCK in the rear if you already have one. A cheap lift for you would be a body lift, you can get it for less than $250, but you do need to buy the shifter extension separately. Suspension wise, with torsion you are limited to either cranking the bars you already have or a super lift $$$. If coil spring, you might be able to get away with a spacer. In the rear, get an add a leaf kit, or a shackle.

OP has an Edge so he has T-bars.
That "kit" is a waste of money. I'm 99% sure you still have the stock block in the rear. Don't add another one! Also, the keys are a waste of money. They do nothing more than what you can do by cranking the bars in your driveway for free. If you want a cheap lift, get a body lift. You're asking for trouble with the eBay special you've got linked. |
