Leaf Springs?

Leaf Springs?
I have a broken leaf spring on the rear driver's side of my 1992 Ford Ranger, 2.3L engine. It currently has 2/1 leaf springs. I was wondering if I could put 3/1 leaf springs on without any issues. Is this possible? If so, is there anything I would have to change or modify?
