While doing TB crank.....
I found that one side of the truck was already tightened a lot if I crank them both all the way it the one side is an inch higher. Anyone else see this before?and when I bring the one side level with the other it isn't too much higher then it was. But the truck wasn't too far from level to start with. Maybe someone already did it once before.
My main concern is he un even sides does it need new torsion bars? I am gonna do spindles soon and when I do I gonna do ball joints and all so maybe a set of new TBs at the same time if so what kind?
Thanks in advance,
Darrell

Then fix it. lol. If the front is sloping towards thediver side, crank the driver bar up to get both sides even. common sense. Then make that your tbar cranking starting point. If you reach the point where your bolt is in all the way, de-crank the passenger side.
The way it is now, makes me think someone was in there previously......like a lower control arm needed swapped out before or something. Stock, there shouldn't be this funky side rake crap. Driver side bolt should be threaded approx 3/4" or so more than the passenger side.

Yeah I made it level. I just wanted to make sure the tbars were ok. Not like after 106k miles things don't get worn and I don't mind replacing stuff if I have to. But I guess it's ok. I was hoping for more height but maybe it is where everyone elses is at. I will have to do some comparing of height measurements to see. Girlfriend wants her high like mine but that ain't gonna happen with this suspension.

Yeah my buddy had an 04 fx4 ranger and 5" suspension 3" body and 35s and it was nice but still slot shorter. And of coarse my gf has wanted her like his ever since but the edge is suck a pain to find lift options. I was gonna go crazy and do a SAS and then thought about how it still needs an 8.8 rear, transfer case, and a stick for most fun in the mud and then the 3.0 flexfuels power limits I changed my mind. So I cranked the tbars and now I am gonna get shackles, AAL and spindles an call it a day.

Ok I think the tbars have sagged pretty bad over the years. I used a measuring thing out of the book and the truck with the driver side tbar all the way cranked and the passenger to keep it level has a ride height of 5" that is doing the spindle to LCA pivot math. or 34 1/4"s to the wheel well with stock tires the rear is 35"s
I like to fabricate so i may just do a SAS and leave it 2x4 for a bit while saving money to finish the drivetrain.
