straight axle help!!!
Hey i have a 95 ranger xlt, 5spd 4x4, i am looking to strait axel the front end... i am looking to find a jeep cherokee font end cause the four link all hooks up the same, but i want a bronco front end cause of the ability to re pack bearing and instead of throwing away the whole bearing and stuff... cause i know that is my only problem with the jeep's.. but i what is the best way to do it so i dont have to re gear everything?? let me know if you guys could!! that would be great!!

well i mean i don't know about 4-link.. but i ment where the drop for the steering comes out if that makes since.. like where the steering all joins... i dont know of the top of my head.. cause i want to do the dana 35.. is what i really want cause 44 is to wide and i was gonna do coils cause i already have 6in lift coils... but then all i need to do is build my bars for my arms, and stuff... do you have anything done to your's??

1) a D35 is a rear axle, only IFS and TTB junk uses a D35 up front
2) you can get a D44 from an early bronco thats about the same width as a ranger
3) you have radius arms, completely different design from the 4 link
4) i have wayyy too much done to list it here, i have f150 axles, jeep springs, yoda steering box, one off steering setup..
From what I've heard an early bronco axle is damn near a bolt in process on your gen. rangers... just gotta get/make a panhard.
mine's slightly modified.

you don't have to, but then the front will be wider than the back..
but i split the carrier in my 8.8 in half, so i sped up my process for getting a 9" and i hate c-clip axles with a passion. the Ford 9" is more than strong enough (so i've been told) for our trucks on 35s..
But i also have a trend of breaking the unbreakable sooooo we'll see.
my best advice would be to read the SAS build threads on here, therangerstation.com and go read some on pirate4x4.com
then you'll have a better idea of what you're getting into. Its not hard in theory, its just a TON of time and money unless you have some good hook ups..
As for leaves vs. coils vs. coil-overs... its all personal preferance, i went with leaves since i thought it would be cheaper and easier, but the way i did it.. I'm wrong in so many ways all my steering issues revolve around leaves.

?? i am not seeing how? i duno tho i woundt be able to tell ya.. cause like with the leafs wouldnt you have more of a problem with the stearing?? i dont know im just confused... and like if i use the jeep font end then all the stearing will match up... if i use the ford bronco i have to get different stearing components and all that good stuff... i just dont know what to use..

alright that is what i thought cause like you said i already have it... but what do you mean 3 link?? i haven't seen that... or do you mean the extended radius arms and then the stabilizer bar??
I mean like i have my lower control arms
track bar
but the upper control arm?? im just confused of how it's gonna go on??

well it depends on if you want to buy the kit or weld it all up your self.. i'd rather have it welded up.
lower control arms, upper control arm, track bar, new brackets frame mounts. and he was saying that i can do four link but it can bind up more often than not, and the three link is also easier to do. and it's handles better
but like i said i'm here to find out just in general what others like to cause i didn't know what one to go with... thanks fot all the help!!! and info!
