I still have no idea in hell how he broke that sensor by doing a body lift over 12+ body lifts and i have never come close to even getting near one...

I realize this... I've talked to 3 of the big local ones.. one of which we know the head of the shop so I skipped all the little people... they all tell me the same thing. As for the lift I realize none say they will work but the shops that agreed to install said, and listened to me when I said, that nothing lift-related has changed on the Ranger since '05 (which was when they show the kits cut off).

Ok for all of that have your owners manual, there should be one in there that is called Customer Information Guide.

On page 12 ( in my book) it states that warranty can be vioded if :

"Non-Ford parts installed after the vehicle leaves Ford of Canada's control and causes a Ford part to fail. Examples include, but are not limited to lift kits, oversized tires, roll bars, cellular phones, alarm systems, remote starting systems and performance enhancing powertrain components."

sounds pretty clear to me.......but then again im going to lift it and enjoy it. Its your choice to lift and not to lift, bigger tires and what not, but just remember you might get hassled over it.

Now saying that, what if you buy the kit, have a certified Ford dealer install it, and put it on paper that they will cover any defects ? might go for that i dont know.

just crank the bars, get it even....the Alignment Tech at my dealership told me to do that, and just get it aligned.....

Dallis, as mentioned in an earlier post there's a law in the U.S. called the Magnussen-Moss Act that pretty much stated telling a consumer they can't put aftermarket parts on a vehicle is a monopoly and illegal for them to void an entire warranty because of it. The could void my airbag warranty 'cause we f'ed a sensor during the instal but they can't void my stereo warranty... got it??

Bottom line is if you want a lifted truck and you have a warranty then you need to pick one or the other 'cause even with the law you have to take it to court and in the end it's not worth it (and the dealership knows this).

Dealerships don't like to give away service/parts so if they can find a reason it's not warranty they will. Bottom line is you're probably not gonna be able to lift it but they may have options on leveling it. You'll probably pay a little more going through them but if you're concerned about the warranty then it's probably worth it to you. After a year and a half my truck has had only minor warranty issues (if you ignore my squealing brakes) so I don't really give a crap anymore.
the dealership loves the BL on my truck. they told me it makes their job easier haha. especially since they have to replace my headers on tuesday (they somehow warped) and as mentioned, a dealership will install a lift for you, just charge an arm and a leg. but they can't just say 'oh yeah your warranty is void' they still have to honour the warranty unless the problem is a direct cause by the lift or whatever work you did
