Lifting my 05 ranger xlt 4WD 3 inches with a whole lift kit

Hey so I was thinking about buying the ford ranger wolf 3 inch lift kit with shocks, torsion keys, and leaf spring lifters, check the link for the kit. I wanted to know if anyone could help me with the torsion key install. I know how to get them off but putting them back up when the new keys are much higher and cause a tool to lift them into place. Willing to pay on PayPal for someone to help me through the process.

Save your money and watch this video:

Grab a two-jaw puller shown in the video. Takes a lot of the headache out trying to use a bottle jack.

Hope this helps.

Well best thing I can do for you is tell you that you bought some snake oil. "Lift" torsion keys are one of the worst ways you can lift your truck, short of doing homemade lift kits.

But if you're dead-set on doing the torsion keys, it can be done with a C-Clamp. However you have to be VERY careful because it can and will slip off, and it will come flying at a very high speed. You can help yourself immensely by taking as much tension off of the torsion bars as possible. This means unbolting the upper shock nut, unbolting the sway bar links, and removing the outer tie-rod from the steering knuckle. On a 4wd, the CV axle may limit how much the control arm will droop, but goal here is to get the control arm to droop as far down as possible. Depending on how much tension is removed, you may not even need a tool and you may be able to manipulate the torsion keys and their keeper by pushing down on the lower control arm once you remove the torsion adjuster bolt. I've done it this way before and it's definitely possible, and much, much safer.
