Well Alon is gonna be sending me his Fabtech spindles this week, its a start.

1. I'm gonna order Pro Comp AAL's from summit sometime this week probably.
2. I'm gonna order Cam and bolt allignment kit from offroad warehouse
3. I have 3" blocks in the garage to replace the 2" ones i got now.
4. I already have 15x8 crawlers so i dont need new wheels.
5. I'll probably buy Rancho RS9000's all the way around unless anybody has a better suggestion for around the same money.
6. Im gonna run my 31's until i have money for PA lift and regearing, then i wanna get 35's or 36's.
7. I'll be installing it myself, with some help too.

Anything im forgetting?

 

Shackles, very important, will give you another inch or two of lift. IMO, I would run em, but you don't have to.

And when you do your AAL's, make sure you have a pair of vise grips, it's a PITA, and grease the leaves while your at it, and might as well paint while your down there!! Use that por15 stuff on your frame! Thats what I gotta do next

Ricky, my stepdad doesnt want me to run the drop shackles because hes afraid of me leveling out my leafs. ill just stay away from them to make him happy, and ill put the 3" block i have to replace my 2" one

Dude, tell your pops that blocks are worse than shackles...by a long shot!!!

By replacing the block you lose the factory bumpstop, which means you can bottom out your shocks and mess some stuff up...thats what I heard!!

 

im not discouraging.. but i thought i read on here somewhere that its a little iffy to fun blocks bigger than 2"....am i wrong??

 

i just hear not to go with blocks bigger than 3". yeah dude i might just do the shackles, ill see. can i buy a whole new leaf spring set that would give me more height? if so, around how much they cost?

 

this is correct however with shackles you will change your pinion angle and while this may not be an issue you may want to add some shims to resotre your stock pinion angle... when i lift my truck im only gonna have shackles for a month or so until i get a set of AAL's in there so ill let you know how it goes

 

alright, well im definately gettin AAL's, ill prolly order them this week, ill prolly replace the blocks with the 3" one.

 

these are all of the combonations of rear lift ive had on my truck

1. Just 3 inch blocks
2. Small AAl
3. Small AAL and Blocks
4. Small AAl and Shackles

the best by far is the 4th one by looks and performance... #'s 1-3 werent ever level with the front and it was stiff in the back . I thought it was annoying how stiff it was driving. When i had my blocks in all i ever heard were bad stories about how they were dangerous... Please take my word for it AAl and Shackles are the way to go for sure...

blocks can be okay if you do them right like if you have them and get some good traction bars to help eliminate axle wrap

 

Belltech Chevy shackles......bigger blocks won't do anything, just use your stock ones. Trust me, don't cut corners on this part.
