lower a arm cross member
I saw in some pics a bar type cross member that bolts to the rear lower control arm and connects the two sides together. I was wondering where you buy it and is it a good idea to have it. I only saw it on a few pics of trucks that had the coilover shocks. And another question. I saw some pics of trucks with the coilover conversion and they had a bar on each side roughly where the torsion bars used to be. Just wondering if someone could tell me why. I havent seen those parts for sale. They didnt look home made either.

The lower brace is mostly done as a custom. Dixon brothers now VDF sell one or any decent shop can build one. Just helps prevent bending of the lower arm mount under abuse.
I built mine a few months ago. Pretty easy over all. Also serves as a mount for my skid plate. The rear brace bars you see are from the RCD lift (or some custom on a superlift that has had coilovers swapped in) they support the whole front suspension from shifting rear ward. Over kill in most cases but nice too have. |
Thats pretty much what i figured. Just wanted to confirm. I might make the one that goes across from side to side. Thats a good idea to have the skidplate go to it. Thanks man.
