ok Mike like i sayed one way is buy coils to lower the front. some guys cut there stock coils but damn it rides bad. and then flipping the hangers and shackels in the rear. I can acully show you in person what you need to do in the rear if you want to know. there is a few of us going to be at my house on friday afternoon
|
that would be great because i would mess it up really bad..

here is a 2" lowering spring http://store.summitracing.com/partde...7+4294924667+0 and its like $15 in bolts for the rear to flip it. unless you have a stuck shackel and need to replace the stocker. then remeber you will need an alignment

i love the look of lowered trucks but i still like the looks of lifted trucks better!!

As soon as you lower it youll like it and want to go lower you will need a kit or buy more parts. Might as well spend the money and do it right you will be happy you did it in the end. Lowering is a disease Once you start you will be wanting to go lower and lower until your bodydropped laying rocker haha. |

There is nothing wrong with cutting coils as long as you do it right and do not heat them up and cut them evenly. Any lowered vehicle is going to ride a bit bumpy

Hey you think if you did the drop in just the back, you could buy some pinion shims and fix the vibrations..?

I doubt with a flipkit in the back with pinion shims and the front stock height that the pinion shims would help with the pinion angle that much. Drop the front also.

I'm thinking about lowering my truck a bit, it's the FX4 '05, it's has stock 3" blocks in the rear, and i guess cranked up torsion bars in the front. if i removed the blocks, and had the torsion bars cranked down a bit, would i need new shocks? just bought and replaced with new ones last week. Also can a person crank the torsion bar down/up by themselves?
|
I think they are 2 inch blocks, you can decrank the torsion bars and all but why would you do that with a 4x4 esp a fx4?
|
a few things...
https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=27795 <-- thats what happens to your upper balljoints when you let out 2+ inches of your front suspension. you have no travel left and bottom them out. You will also wear harder on your front CV shafts/berrings/hubs. Its your truck, do as you please, but things will start wearing really quick on ya. D. |
ouch!!! maybe i'll keep the stock height
