Lowering a 4x4

I gave a 2007 Ranger 4x4 to my 17yo son. I’ve had it for a while I cranked the torsion bars, almost to the max to level it for me. He wants it lowered some though. I’ll put lower profile street tires on it. It has factory lift blocks in the back. I’m thinking about taking them out.

Hopefully someone has been there done that.

Question Time:

1. Will I have to shorten the drive shaft?

2. Will I be able to crank down the torsion bars enough to level it out?

Not a good pic, but...

Thanks!!!

DD

Have you done anything with this, I'm in the planning stages of doing the same with my 99 4x4. It can definitely be lowered to some extent, but I can't say how much. Was more common on the explorers that share the same front suspension. It was pretty common to be able to drop those awd and 4wd about 2" from stock height, Saleen even did a limited run called the XP8 that they dropped 1.5" to 2" and many of them were AWD/4WD from my understanding.
