LOWERING SPRINGS

Thinking about ordering a set of lowering springs for the front of my 97 Ranger. The description says it will lower the truck 3 inches but I’ve read a few posts that say they only got 1-2”.
Was wondering, has anyone had any experience with these? How hard are they to install? Do the affect the ride and handling adversely?
I have plenty of tools, jacks, stands & so forth and I’ve been wrenching for the most part of 70 years so knowledge and skill should not be a problem just don’t wanna get into something that takes for ever and end up having to call for help.
Thanks in advance, all replies will be appreciated.

PS: Also came by a 1995 Explorer parts car. Has anybody had any experience putting the Explorer rear axle/differential under the Ranger?

The front springs on your 23 year old truck are probably already sagging 1 - 2 inches

Those 3 inch drop springs would have dropped your truck 3 inches when your truck was brand new.

So getting 1 - 2 inches out of those springs on your truck is about right.

You know I never thought of that you’re probably right that’s why You only get the 1 to 2 inches. Those trucks sure are sprung high.
Hopefully the new springs will give me a little better ride my truck sure does ride rough every little bump your feel it even with brand new shocks.
Thanks for the insight,

Larry
