Suspension lift ?

From my understanding there are only 3 suspension lifts for our trucks, Superlift, RCD and dixionbrothers is that true ? I think pretty much I could one day down the road I could do the Superlift.

Anybody have a superlift kit on their truck, what do you think ? Like it ? Any bad things about it ?

....and post some pics.

I was going to post a forum about the same topic, since a suspension lift is comming in the near future with my 4x4.

what size lift are you talking about. That will help.

I thought super lift only made one size. If not I would like about 4-6 inches of lift or so

superlift makes a 4" lift. there are others out there that ive seen but none of them compare to RCD or superlift. dixion brothers makes a 4wd lift or am i thinking of someone else?

Dixion is 4wd long travel. you may get a few inches depending, isnt someone from this site installing one right now?

I would love to have the RCD, but would settle for the Superlift because my offroading doesnt warranty the extra.

Yep there is only Superlift and RCD as real suspension lifts. DBR may give you a few inches, but thats not its main purpose, it is a long travel suspension kit, made for sand hopping among other things. Superlift and RCD are more trail ready kits.

Yea but are you a 2wd or 4wd. Fabtech doesn't make late model 4x4 lifts for rangers.

Stupid question, Ben are you 2wd or 4wd, lol, i can't tell.

yeah, fabtech makes a lift kit too. like pinecone said, the dixon bros kit is more for desert riding/racing. deavers are the best for the rear. they are more expensive than aal's, but worth it.

Yea deavers are a lot more expensive than AAL's but they are two totally different things. Deaver's are a whole leaf pack made for whatever purpose or size they can make and AAL's just add a inch or two in height.

Fabtech makes a late model 2wd spindle lift, but not a 4x4 lift.

i have a 98 2wd and i have a fabtech suspension lift. about 5.5F and 4.5R. i had aals helper leaf but it made my truck feel a little more tipsy in the back so i took it off. i have it in my garage though if someone wants it. added maybe an 1" to my rear lift.

I think it would be fun to have the DBR long travel and be able to jump dunes and stuff, but there are no dunes around for that and I am not going to race with my truck.
For the type of off-raoding I do I want height.

So RCD vs Superlift

Where have you guys got them from ? How much ?
How hard are they to put it ? I hear super lifts are easy ?
Also I really like ajustable shocks like Tom's rancho setup and I am thinking about setting mine up like that, is there an ajustable shock upgrade for RCD or superlift ?

Superlift is bolt on

RCD requires welding a gussett (sp?)

RCD installed is like $2800
Superlift installed with driveshaft is like $2300 (kit is ~$1300 + ~$350 driveshaft)

Am I right? Someone help with the pricing I forget.

sounds right to me, but if your gonna get the RCD you may as well add that superlift driveshaft to the list cause your gonna need it.

I like the words bolt on.

Installation would be next to nothing I am sure I could get some help and do it myself.

$1300 plus $350 = $1700 not bad.

Even if I ride in someones RCD and it is way nicer I will think is it $1100 nicer $1450 nice if you count needing the superlift driveshaft.

I wouldnt mind the superlift. I dont need the extra that comes with having the RCD. If you wheel alot you might choose the RCD however.

Anyways, sorry I don't have any pictures for you, but there were several people on Gen-Edge that had the superlift and it looks great. The install is definitely something you can do yourself, and the only really special tool you need is a torsion bar puller tool. There was a member with a lvl2 from Hawaii who wheeled his truck with a superlift and swamper tsl radials really hard many times. It's a sturdy lift! The stabilizer links are a weak point, but a member on G-E found a very good solution for that by cutting two of them in half and welding them together, then welding a piece of pipe over it for some more added strength. A superlift will be going on my truck in the VERY near future, so look for lots of install pictures and such in 4-6 weeks.

Yep superlift is a good lift. The only negative thing is how low the torsion bars sit.
