they're to support that drop down front cross member. couldn't find a real clear pic so these should give you an idea.

So it looks like they don't really do anything if they just go from the frame to the crossmember. I thought they would have gone to one of the a-arms or something kind of like a control arm on a solid axle.

look at the stock mount then look at the drop down bracket.

it's a support link.

might not be uber important but after having them, i couldn't see the lift kit without them.

Rangerguy Apr 22, 2008 09:33 PM

Wow, very nice and very interesting..........

MudSlanger Apr 22, 2008 09:43 PM

Well then why didnt superlift come with these then?? Dont the rear crossmembers need support too or is it because the RCD drops down a little further? Thanks for the pics BTW...

i couldn't tell you 100% aobut how important they are to the structural integrity of the truck but it makes sense when i think about it?

MudSlanger Apr 22, 2008 09:58 PM

Well if i have to, then ill make some, they shouldnt be too hard!

Or if i have to, then ill order them, no biggie!

Prerunner-Ranger Apr 22, 2008 10:00 PM

So you can rip the torsion bars out and get new uppers and lowers and put those bars in place?

Call RCD and get a price, if it's anything like their salty bilstien coilover prices then you're better off making your own if you can.

According to the guys at EF, they don't hit the CV... They're a good distance from them, just bad pic angle... Theres a few guys from EF that have done the conversion... A lot of helpful people and information over there too!

MudSlanger Apr 22, 2008 10:18 PM

Rangerguy Apr 22, 2008 11:04 PM

i was thinking the same thing..

as far as whats been said so far about the radius arms.. i would definately invest in some if i were you.. without them there would be no front to rear support for the crossmember.. and with the drop brackets on there i would think it would be very important to have them..

my $.02
