1989 ranger lift

i have a 1989 ford ranger with the i-beam front suspension and was wondering about doing a very slight lift on the front. i've heard that an adjustment on the torsion bar can give a slight lift or drop. i need help and knowledge
thanks

your truck doesnt have torsion bars. thats only on 98s and up. Since you have coils you could get spacers to lift the front end up.

Welcome to the site. Use the search buttom or check the suspension sections for lots of advice on lifting your truck. The easiest way to get a small amount of front lift (2 inches) is to either use coil spacers or use lift coils. Both run about 150 dollars and require an alignment with new cam bushing in order to get the front end properly aligned.

Dont do the stock 150 coils. Yeah they will fit but the spring rate will be very very very stiff for the ranger. Like you wont have suspension travel you will have tire sidewall flex. So I guess if you want the mexi- Honda bounce then that's the way to go...

there called radius arms and i can see where you can be confused, but they do a very different job. there job is to locate the axle during its range of motion and nothing else.

a good and cheap leveling kit for older rangers is the f150 factory coil spacer. gives you about a 1.5" lift in the front and should level your truck. again an alignment might be needed or you may have enough adjustment left to bring the truck back into spec. check this out, all the info on budget lifting:

good source that answers allot of questions, especially for older rangers.
