I'm curious if i can get 3 inches of lift out of my stock 09 torsion keys plus if switch from my 30' tires to a 32" tire will that give me another inch or half an inch, on top of this I'm curious how much lift will i get out of the belltech 6400 shackels and a procomp AAL. and last on the list is someone on here mentioned chevy blocks are those the same as the shackles or is that something else that will give me more height.

 

No you can't out of the stock keys. Now if you swap anything 06 and older (I can't remember if 07 had the lower keys or not) and crank those you'll get close to 2-3".

 

is there a cheap method to add 3 inch's to the front without a complete lift kit, i'm not to sure but i've heard the fabtech spindles might help out here.

 

Not on your 4x4. Superlift is the only option. Spindles are for 2wds

 

my only problem with superlift is 1 they are expensive to get in Canada and they recommend that you swap the drive axel. the Canadian brand i think is ready lift which only makes a 2.25 leveling kit. which looks like the ebay nock off torsion keys.

 

I would highly advise not going with aftermarket torsion keys. If you want a lift on a budget go with a body lift.

 

from what i've heard it will be even more expensive to go with a body lift seeing how i cant install it the shop will have to take more time to do it, the current price quote was 960 for a 2.25 suspension lift all around or 1200 for a 3 inch body lift all around. has anyone really experienced a great deal of trouble with the after market keys also has anyone been able to squeeze about 3 inchs out of a set of stock 06 keys. i just went out and measured i would have to lift my front end 3 inches to level the truck out.

 

Why can't you install it out of curiosity? A ton of members have installed body lifts in their drive way, its not really that difficult.

Yes a lot of people have had trouble with them, the big problem is the cause excessive wear on the front end components causing things to wear out very prematurely, just do a search on it.

 

I'm not very mechanically inclined apart from brakes and oil changes and few internal electrical things, on top of that i don't have the necessary tools and this is my only vehicle so can't have it sitting in pieces for a few days while i figure it out on the final note its a brand new truck so any form of BL will void the warranty, so I'm also just curious has anyone purchased a 4 inch super-lift with drive shaft and how much do they usually cost not to install but just the parts, on the final side of this has anyone installed a 4 inch suspension lift were they had to replace the stock shocks.

 

probably 1500-1800 for a superlift with the new driveshaft and yes, you'll need new shocks

 

^AND it comes with new shocks anyhow.



Do a search for PreKey....TONS of info in a sticky at the top of the suspension section of the site. If you prekey and thread the bolt in the same depth as stock, you'll see about 1.5" lift. Ontop of that, people generally get about 1.5-2" by cranking those bolts more....the same amount of torsion crank 98-07 guys can get. So in essence, you can get approx 3.5" lift by doing the PreKey plus torsion crank.



Find friends who are mechanically inclined to help ya install. If you can tighten and loosen a bolt, you can install a bodylift. Take a peek at our Body Lift section of the site.

 

i pretty much want to level the truck off and throw some 32" tires on it so from what i saw today mind you this was just from placing a jack under the front skid plate and cranking it up it would take about 3" to level the truck and then I'm hoping to get another inch out of the 32" tires however if i have to go 31" so be it. o and here's something that the guys down at Hollywood custom were saying today the superlift requires that for there 3" and 4 "inch lifts you swap the front drive shaft now if i go and lift the truck 3 inch via torsion key and tire would i still have to swap the drive shaft caus e'm chanign the angle he said the only way around that would be to lower the gearbox.

 

Superlift requires a new front shaft, yes. Because the front axle is being dropped down, the rear joint on the front shaft will fail because of the new alot tighter angle. It's not a matter of if it'll fail, it's a matter of when. Some get 4,000 miles....others get 30,000 miles.....others get 5 miles. It's something you've gotta prepare for and keep tools in the truck for when it does go and binds up your front end.


Cranking bars doesn't move the front axle at all....so no new shaft nothing is required.
