Yeah but no one runs that for the same reason, its a garbage kit. It uses like ball joints re-locaters or something like that.

their "warranty" program was junk anyways.

i smacked mine a few times. but unlike the torsion bars if you mangle one or rip it off its no big deal.

you can still get coil overs, and retrofit it..

The problem with SAS for me and probably others is that I don't have the time, space, knowledge or welding skills to do it. Also I don't want to be messing adjusting crap all the time because the ride is crap at certain speeds or something.

This is lame! i dont understand what is so hard about just keeping the kit available... even if its a special order type of deal. Oh well.

I don't think they want to spend the time/resources making a kit that doesn't sell as well as others. If they did keep it and only did special order I bet the cost would be ridiculous.

Wasnt there a company that made an SAS conversion kit for the 93-97 Rangers??

Any of these kits will work. But it is still going to be a lot of fab work.

OR, you do some simple research, and buy it all instead of buying a kit that your going to have to heavily modify.

its almost a bolt on swap depending on the axle you use.

Super lift + B/L= 36x13.5's

http://www.setstr8.com/ Has a SAS for the ranger. I know these guys were great to work with when we lifted my Buddy's '97 F-150. He bought thier 1st SAS kit for the 97+. They also lift you on coils!

more on this later

That Fabritech kit is junk.

No one will make a SAS kit for our trucks, because of one thing.... liability.

Weak junk frame, retro steering shaft, rack and pinion steering.

you can do a straight axle with a rack and pinion..

its scary as hell looking but i saw a SAS'd explorer on ebay with a modified R&P.. they claimed it was better than the "big crappy truck steering boxes"

Zach I didn't know how good it was for the rangers. Really don't know much about how good they are in general know a days. I know what they gave us back in like 00 or 01 when we did that was great. The truck was also a street crawler though. 39.5 boggers and like 15 or 18" of lift.

Zach's reasoning was the weak ranger frame.. again, F-150s have bigger frames.. Lets see, 97... TTB.. TTB means Steering box, and I'm not sure what the newer trucks have but i think they still have a steering box?

I'm pretty sure 04-08 F-150's have rack & pinion steering.
