older suspension pre runners
Anyone have any info over how the older (square style ranger front end) 4x4 ranger pre runner suspension worked way back when?
I may buy a ex race truck that had awesome suspension back then but now kinda sucks.
he told me it has double style shocks in the front without coils.

4x4 with the TTB?
there should be some sort of spring up front. be it a coil spring, or coilover
i dont think they run air shocks.
which ex race truck was it? i am sure someone knows something about it.
and the suspension hasnt really changed That much, just shocks and what not have got better.

I will post pics once I see it or he sends them to me in a couple days.
It was made by Barnies in Napanee. It raced the tough truck compititions. Maybe it did have a coil in the front since I only asked if it had coils on the shocks.
I thought he said something of it having 1/2 beams? Or something like that

20" travel out of a TTB is not easy, or cheap!

theres all the 4x4 TTB suspensions i could find that are not custom jobs.

This is all custom from a Race shop. I am not sure how they did it and ether is the guy who bought it last. He said its a tank though. He has about 4 rangers. He has another project that he is currently working on. Its a 2wd 4 banger he is hoping to get 22 inches out of. He said he will sell it too. He just had a kid and said he will sell it, but if it dosen't he said it will just collect dust until they get old enough for him to start working on it again.

eh..skyjacker and those other lifts are pretty much only good for tire clearance for bigger tires..its pretty much just a lift with no if hardly any usable travel. It only drops ur suspension. If u buy extendend cut and turned beams,it will allow you to gain more travel because of the turned beams...just like the TIB's where they bend and extend them along with new radius arms.

This BII for instance has a Skyjacker 6" kit on it with home make radius arms. You can't tell me that isn't good travel from a bolt on kit.
It doesn't have anything to do with the drop brackets, it is all about the springs.

The bolt on kits are strong, espically the Skyjacker Class II kits. A true pre-runner truck has to beef up even the stock brackets if they cut and turn the beams.
