Body Lift or Suspension Lift?

Body lift is alot cheaper.. and you can use gap guards etc... to minimize the stupid look.
There is no question that suspension lift is better... but you are talking thousands vs less than 200$+labor(or do it yourself)
Another thing that sux with a body lift is trailer hitches and exhaust tips etc being low and stupid looking.
Of course you can fit 33's easy (full flex) with a tbar crank and maybe very minor trimming.

If you have a 97 or older truck, definetly suspension!!
If you have a 98 or newer 4x4, your options are severely limited. I got the bodylift because it is a ton cheaper, I can STUFF 33x12.50s with no rubbing and no trimming. My hitch hangs down no lower than my stepbars do. Heres a side shot:
Like I said, options for 98+ 4x4s are severely limited. A suspension lift other than the RCD is going to give you a marginal performance increase over stock, other than a few inches of lift. Does that mean you shouldn't get a suspension lift? No. I plan on getting a Superlift in the near future for my 2000. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably get the Superlift first, and get a bodylift later when I realized I wanted bigger tires. I could have afforded it then, when my parents paid for my bills and I got to spend the money I earned on whatever I wanted to. Now I have responsibilities such as paying for my home and keeping the water and power turned on, so not much money is allotted for toys. Do I sound bitter? Probably.
EDIT
Does the bodylift keep me from having fun with my truck? Hell no. Everything from the differential cross member back has rock rash, though. Every inch counts. I say if you choose to buy a suspension lift, go ahead and get the bodylift, because its only an extra hundred bucks and 6 hours worth of work. But if your wallet is tight and you can't shell out the grand for the suspension, a bodylift will get you offroad just fine. Check out these poser shots: (I've done a little work to the rear suspension in these pics, but there is no addition "lift" )
