pro comp lift/fabtech lift.....help
i've decided that i am wantin to lift the truck thru an actual lifting system, instead of the torsion bar crank...now...the only thing i've seen remotely close to being by truck is a 2wd edge lift with torsion bars.....will these work on my truck? i have the t-bars as well....
also, where can i get just the spindles? i checked both companies sites, no luck...people on this site have their lifts....help me out. how much were just the spindles? i'm going to take care of the back with shackles and blocks, and i've already upgraded my shocks to way bigger ones..... and of these two brands, which one is better? i'm leanin to pro comp...i've heard bad about fabtech...just curious.... i dont have aftermarket rims yet, i mite roll cheap for a while and keep the stockers..... |
well all i'm gonna say is i love my fabtechs yeah people talk down on them i'v had no problems and i love the stance with the procomps you keep the stock stance with the fabtech it makes your stance about 1 1/2 inch's wider and i'm loveing it right now....... mine costed 400 bucks shiped to the door Spindles this is how my truck looks http://fomocoedge.com/Meet/Huntsvill...0Day%20164.jpg tommy the truck next to me have the procomps.... look closely lol hes running a 12.50 wide tireand i'm running a 10.50
|
awesome, so how hard was the install? i like the way it looks, and i have 10.50's as well, and i plan on keeping them until i totally kill the tread.
|
and i heard that the fabtechs wont let u run with u're stock rims.....now is that because they arent stuck out as much, (increaseing chances of tippin over) or what?
|
I know the pro-comp's are supposed to work with all Stock rims, and the Fabtech had issues with the spoked 15" rim found on the "Edge Plus" models. Not sure if your current wheel specs are different from the Ford Edge 15".
|
fabtech requires a 3.75 max backspacing and stock are 4 something i think.
I have Fabtech's and i love them. before i got them i was really worried about them sticking out and now i love the handeling they give me... Wider IS BETTER :) |
Typically wider is better for handling (as long as you don't screw with geometry too much), but it will also throw up more road trash up the side of your truck. Wider fender flares can fix that though.
|
my rims i belive are similar in specs to the ford rims....standard 15x7 on a 4.5" backspacing (i believe)......
so this means i'll have to roll with pro-comp to maintain stock rims? |
some people have said that stock rims do work... so i don't know what to say about that
in regards to kicking up more crap, yes that is true :) i do notice the side of my truck gets dirty quicker but even being anal about it i really don't mind that much |
