Hey guys, I'm curious how much it would cost to get a 2-3 inch lift on just the back of my truck. It sits kinda funny where the cab is a little higher than the bed.

How would I do it, What would I need to buy ? Anyone in the Houston area that could do it and wants to make a few bucks ?

You have a few options if you want to accomplish rear end lift.

Explorer leaf spring swap (with your current rear blocks) will give you about 2 inches.

Shackles. (We like Belltech shackles) They will give you about 2 inches. You can get the 3 inch lift shackles as well.

Larger lift blocks. Lift blocks sit beneath your leaf springs. Larger blocks = more lift.

 

What, in your estimate would each of those cost ? Which would be the cheapest ? I'm on semi-limited funds but want to get it fixed because it's funky looking..

 

The leaf springs will depend on how much a JY or salvage yard will charge you for them.

Shackles, anywhere from $20-$75 or more depending.

Blocks, the price will vary. Ive seen folks give them away, and ive seen them go from $20-expensive lol.


The prices will all depend on where you can find them, and who is selling them. If you can go to a JY and find this stuff, then it might be cheaper than buying them from a seller or brand new.

I bought my 3" lift shackles for $25. They are PRICEY brand new, so I found a good deal.

With the lift methods in mind, start hunting in the classifieds and in local JYs.

 

shackles will prolly be your cheapest bet.You can pick them up for like 50 bucks shipped. Thats for the belltech 6400s about +2 inches

 

Shackles are the easiest IMO. Then lift blocks then new leafs.

 

Are they difficult to install ?

 

I have these same thing as the Beltech 6400 but pepboys sells them for around 40 bucks

 

shackles are cake. get shackles or block for easy, non-performance lift

 

Not if you can turn a wrench really hard to break the rusty bolt loose!
