what replacement shocks are best to use if i have a fisher homesteader plow installed

I am looking at replacing my shocks (front and rear) and am wondering what ones I should be looking at. I have a Fisher homesteader plow installed (about 250 pounds). I was thinking a little heavier duty than stock would be a good idea, but I don't want to drastically affect the ride quality, especially without the plow on. I'm also on a bit of a budget, so top dollar\high end is a bit out of reach at the moment. What are the best budget friendly suggestions?

shocks have nothing to do with being able to add more weight, if u are going to add more then springs, leafs, tb crank, or things of that nature need to be addressed

As far as I know, supporting the added weight has already been addressed. I'm simply replacing shocks that are not in good shape and aren't really doing much of anything. I guess I should have rephrased my initial question somewhat. Sorry about that. What I'm asking is, should I be looking at heavier duty shocks than the stock ones as an upgrade to compliment the updates dealing with the extra weight or stay with oem shocks? Basically, as there are tons of different brands and types listed, I'm looking for good quality options for front and rear that will be budget friendly and not adversely affect the ride quality.

Sorry if I'm not asking this the right way. It seemed perfectly clear in my head, but may be getting lost in translation.

Shocks can have a major effect on how your truck handles added weight. The "best" shock will depend on your budget. Custom valved for your truck will be the best but will cost $1500+

A good cheap option is Bilstein 4600 stock replacements. They are part of their HD series and will help control the weight of the truck.

shocks only controll the damping and rebound of the springs, leafs, t-bars, so yes that they do help with handling the extra weight if the other parts are in place.

how about the rancho rs5000's? They are also listed under heavy duty and at $45.79 on sale with a buy 3 get one free coupon, are much closer to my budget than the bilsteins at $75 each. Also, I've noticed a large difference in travel distance from 4-5" up to 15+ ". My truck is stock ride height. What travel distance should I be looking at?

Rancho may not be the most popular brand but it is a good replacement for the stock shocks.
